Laura Kraut on the question whether this was the perfect course for Cedric; “You never know with him, sometimes he is afraid of break-away jumps so I was really happy when he jumped the first round. It was a good second course to give confidence. I'm just so pleased. And I was surprised that i beat Edwina and Hansi, because I just didn't feel that I was that efficient in the jump-off. It is different with grass and sand and we can't go as fast on grass.”
Runner-up Edwina Tops-Alexander on the last line in the jump-off where she put in an extra stride; “It probably caused me the first place. I got a bit deep on the oxer and it was amazing that he could jump that. Then we got a bit dead in the landing so i couldn't catch the eigth to the last fence. Every course is easy with Itot, I just have to ride good. He is just such an amazing horse and I'm so lucky to have him.”
Hans Dieter Dreher on the class; “I think the ladies were too fast for me today. I wanted to make eight to the last fence but then I realised how big it was so i made nine instead. GCT is always great sport and for us riders it is like a championship.
Jan Tops, President of the Global Champions Tour; “It is always different circumstances and that is the beauty with GCT. Now it was three Grand Prix’on grass and three on sand is coming up. Next GCT will be in London for the first time and that is really special. England is such a horse country. We have great expectations for the London show.”
Laura on being the leading GCT rider; “We got a long way to go. I am just pleased that we started off as well as we have. I really want to thank my horses. If I can keep them healthy I will give the GCT title a chance. I’m looking forward to the upcoming events and especially to London.”
