Hans-Dieter Dreher on his win; "I am so happy to win here in my home area. I think I got the perfect jump-off, and I think I won it after the fourth fence where I already in the landing had a forward distance to the next fence and I could just keep going. What shall I say; I'm really happy!"
Ludger Beerbaum who was third; "Well done Hansi! He really deserved to win today because the jump-off was world class. To see Hansi's time and the times for the rest of the riders - he was more than a second faster - that shows how unbeliveable Hansi's jump-off was today. I think if the rest of us would get another three of four goes at it, it would only be Steve with his super fast horse that might have had a chance to beat the time. For the rest of us it would still be impossible to beat Hansi!
For my own performance I'm really pleased. I was close to maximum and Chaman jumped really good. I'm more than pleased and I collected some World Cup points which was the goal for me. I must also say that we today had one of the best Grand Prix courses I have seen in a while. It is not easy to build a course that selects nine clears in such a world class field. The course builder did a really good job and the jump-off was exciting."
Runner-up Steve Guerdat; "Congrats to Hansi - he did an amazing job. I'm so happy for him, he is not just a great rider but also a great guy and he really deserved that win today. As Ludger said I have one of the few horses that might would have been able to beat Hansi's time, but I didn't take enough risks. This is the third time in a row that I'm second in Stuttgart in the World Cup so next time I have to try a bit harder and hopefully I can win."
Course builder Crista Jung; "Today's course I designed with my ideas three weeks ago, and the last two days I have changed it three times. And the last change was yesterday and I think that was the best one. I thought it would be eight to ten clears. The time was a bit delicate and at first I was a bit nervous about that, but it did work out just fine."
