Daniel Deusser on his win, and whether he expected it: “To be honest until last week I did not expect it because I was not even in the class. I have to say my horse was in great form the last couple of weeks already, but that doesn’t mean that I expected to win the class but she gave me a very good feeling in the first round. I saw that the other ones were very quick in the second round, so I had to be a little bit lucky of course and I had to try it. In the form she has been during the last couple of weeks, she has been quite a lot in the jump-offs and I was again lucky to win the class,” he said – adding that he would “never forget this day.”

Patrice on being runner-up: “For me as well, I was also not in the Top 10 Final from the beginning [like Daniel Deusser]. I was 11th on the ranking, but I got to know I would ride a bit before Daniel did. My horse was on great form today, and did a great second round – he was really fast.”

Ben joked about being third behind Daniel and Patrice: “I think its better when these two guys stay at home! I had an unfortunate rail down; I was a little bit deep in the second part of the double today. My horse felt on top form, and in the jump-off I didn’t have a lot to lose really. The other four faulters were really fast, so I took some risk and it paid off today. I also put the pressure on these two guys [Patrice and Daniel]although not enough today – they were both amazing and congratulations to them both.”

Rodrigo Pessoa from IJRC on the event: “I would like to thank the organizing committee for putting on a fantastic event, and I am happy that we made the choice to come here to Stockholm. Then I would also like to thank our sponsor Rolex who has been a fantastic partner for the last twelve years for this event […] The event tonight was fantastic, with a full house of 12.000 people – great fans, Sweden is known for this and they proved it again tonight. We have a worthy winner, somebody who has not won it before. We have a new name on the trophy, and we are really happy with the way the competition came out.”
