Friday, 05 August 2011

Laura Kraut and Dona Evita won the Power and Speed class in Dublin yesterday. Photo by Sportfot.Dublin Horse Show had it's first international showjumping classes yesterday. For full results go here.

Dermott Lennon secured a homewin in the first class - The Speed Derby (1.35-1.45) - on Loughview Lou Lou (Limerick x Jack of Diamonds).

The pair had the unbeatable time 82.18, three seconds faster than number two - another Irish rider - Alex Duffy with Courtown (by Clinton). The homecrowd must have been happy with the start as yet another Irishman, Capt. David O'Brien,  was third aboard the Cruising-mare Mo Chroi.

The Power and Speed Class was next, and the fences was put up to 1.50-1.60. Laura Kraut and Darco-mare Dona Evita did a good job and were double clear with the time 30.67 in the second phase. Denis Lynch and Night Train (Calvaro Z x Papillon Rouge) were right behind them at 30.80. Beezie Madden and Cotes C (by Randel Z) were third at 31.37.

Thursday night was finished off with the Six Bar, and the German riders secured a triple with Thomas Voss Carena (by Corrado), Philipp Weishaupt and Leoville ( Landor S x Wettruf) and Rene Tebbel with Mats' Up Du Plessis (by Verdi).
