Saturday's two biggest classes at the CSI3* event in Neumünster went to Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking and Gert-Jan Bruggink. Rieskamp-Goedeking won the 1.50 Mercedes-Benz Cup riding Quapitola de Beaufour (Diamant De Semilly x Kannan), ahead of Jeroen Dubbeldam on Zenith SFN (Rash R x Fuego du Prelet) and Christian Ahlmann on Cornado (Cornet Obolensky x Acobat I). Coming in as last to go in the winning round, Tim blazed around the shortened track – that opened up for some serious galloping with its open stretches – on his hot French bred mare shaving off 0.8 seconds on Dubbeldam's time. The Dutch rider had to settle for second, after two beautiful rounds on the ten year old gelding that is going from strength to strength with Jeroen.
The Preis der Performances Sales International was the second 1.50 class of the day, and was won by Gert-Jan Bruggink on his veteran Cash Junior 3 (Cash x Landadel). Five of the 35 riders in the class went on to the jump-off, where Bruggink was first to go. As always the Dutch rider put pressure on those to come as he chased the clock around the shortened track – really galloping to the final oxer stopping the clock on 32.24 seconds. None of the four riders to come could do anything about Bruggink, closest came two German riders; Andreas Kreuzer on Balance 26 (Baloubet du Rouet x Lancer III) and Marco Kutscher on Colestus (Cornet Obolensky x Stakkato) who ended second and third respectively.
