Samuel Parot takes the HRH Prince of Asturias Trophy in Gijon

Samuel Parot won the HRH Prince of Asturias Trophy in Gijon. Photo by CSIO Gijon.The 1.60 HRH Prince of Asturias Trophy at the CSIO5* event in Gijon went to in-form Samuel Parot. The Chilean rider rode the 10 year old Hurlevent de Breka-son Quick du Pottier to victory, and this was Parot's second win during his two days in Gijon. With a double clear round that was over a second faster than that of Abdullah Sharbatly on Tobalio (Numero Uno x Jacorde) the win went to Chile. Third was Dutch rider Leon Thijssen on Haerthago (Heartbreaker x Carthago), who was just fractions behind Sharbatly.

The 1.40 speed class was won by Brazil's Pedro Veniss. Riding Anaya St. Hermelle (Andiamo Z x Paladin des Ifs), Veniss left Laura Renwick behind him in second aboard Rembrandt Blue. In third came Roger Yves Bost on Castle Forbes Rosie (Kannan).
