Sunday, 18 January 2015

Sanne Thijssen won the Grand Prix in Drachten. Photo (c) www.digishots.nl.The entire top three in the CSI2* Grand Prix in Drachten was dominated by the same stable. Leon Thijssen's daughter Sanne Thijssen won, stable jockey Jelmer Hoekstra was second and Leon himself third. Thirteen riders came back for the 1.45 TVM Insurance Grand Prix. "It was a beautiful but tricky test," Leon Thijssen said afterwards. "But for our stable it came out good with three of the four riders placed."

Sanne rode Con Quidam Rb (Quinar x Cardino), an eight year old stallion, to victory with a time of 34.19 seconds in the jump-off. Jelmer was aboard Be Gentle, also an eight year old by Ticallux Verte x Gentleman in a time of 34.84 seconds. The chief himself took Quinoa Des Riollets (Calvaro x Fort Grandchamp) to third place, almost a second behind his daughter.
