There’s no stopping Scott Brash. On Thursday he opened up 2014 by winning the 1.45 Prize of Thermoplan AG speed class in Basel on Bon Ami (Pavarotti vd Helle x Richebourg). Coming in early on in the fifty rider class, this very fast couple did one of their usual extremely quick rounds to stop the clock at 47.34 seconds. Closest to Britain’s super rider came to Dutchmen; Jur Vrieling on VDL Bubalu (Baloubet du Rouet x Nimmerdor) with a time of 48.40 and Maikel van der Vleuten aboard VDL Groep Eureka (Chin Chin x Quidam de Revel) who crossed the finish line on 48.80 seconds.
Earlier in the afternoon Germany’s David Will won the 1.40 speed class on Pokerface (Couleur-Rubin x Baloubet du Rouet). Will was over two seconds faster than runner-up Marcus Ehning on Comme il faut 5 (Cornet Obolensky x Ramiro), and then followed Belgium’s Philippe Le Jeune on Leo de Prairial (Shogoun II x I Love You).
