Scott Brash pulls out of the World Equestrian Games

Thursday, 04 September 2014

Scott Brash will not compete Hello Sanctos in today's competition in Caen. Photo by Jeny Abrahamsson.Scott Brash has decided to go home from the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy. The British team did not qualify for today's team final after finishing as number eighteen yesterday, but Scott was still among those riders that could compete individually in Thursday's competition with his score of 8.10. The decision to withdraw from the championship was taken in consultation with Hello Sanctos' owners, Lord and Lady Harris and Lady Kirkham, the Great Britain Chef d'Equipe and Chef de Mission.

A statement from British Showjumping reads:

"There is a lot of jumping still to do in the individual qualifying competition; a lot of ground to make up in the leader board and the likelihood of qualifying for the Individual final, with the standard of jumping here this week is not likely. With the horse in mind and looking ahead to the forthcoming Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in Barcelona, next year's European Championships and beyond, the decision has been made to withdraw the horse from further competition this week."
