Nick Skelton and the amazing stallion Big Star (Quick Star x Nimmerdor) continued to impress at the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham yesterday. The pair topped the 1.50 speed class with a clear round and a time that was as much as 1.65 seconds faster than that off runner-up Denis Lynch on Lord Luis (Lasino x Alcatraz). Nick and Big Star has been on brilliant form lately, and also produced some really good results in Madrid in September. Kevin Staut and the Argentinus-mare Banda de Hus were third.

Ellen Whitaker and Arena UK Lando (Landor S x Lord) won another 1.50 class with two phases, securing British domination in the two international classes at HOYS.

In Wr. Neustadt, Austria, German rider Olvier Lemmer made sure to take home the top two spots in the biggest class of the day – a 1.45 class. His winning ride was Lacka De La Sapaie, while he was second on Simon Delestre’s former ride Orphee De L’illon.
