South Africa’s number 1 ranked rider of 2012 , Shaun Neill, landed in Europe on the 5th of February to start with the qualifying process for the World Cup Final in Gothenburg. Shaun qualified for the final in the South African league on his horse Clyde Z (Carthago Z x Jus de Pomme), but he was unable to take Clyde overseas due to the quarantine restrictions and lack of time before the final – and now has to qualify himself again on another ride in accordance with the FEI rules.
Shaun will be based at Lieven van Decraen in Belgium where he will be riding the 11 year old stallion Acorado 3 della Caccia (Accord II x Corrado I). He will have a second ride on Ingliston Wicker (Silverstone x Ahorn), a 10 year old stallion which he will jump in the smaller classes at the qualifying shows. The South African rider will go to the 3* show in Dortmund in early March and then the 4* show in Braunschweig 4* a week later.
