Sterrehof keeps Voltaire in Dutch ownership

Wednesday, 13 July 2011

Marc Houtzager is secured the ride on his promising horse Voltaire. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. According to horses.nl Marc Houtzager will in the future not have to worry about Voltaire (Now or Never x Accord II) leaving his stable. Ivo and Ellen Campagne from Stud Sterrehof have bought the talented Grand Prix jumper, and thus preserved Voltaire for the Dutch sport and for Houtzager. Stud Sterrehof also purchased Tamino (Numero Uno x Farmer) in January, so that Houtzager could keep the horse.

Marc Houtzager is delighted with the deal. "I had Voltaire together with Willem Greve and Peter Geerink, and I knew that there was a chance that he once would be sold. For Stud Sterrehof this was a step to remain engaged in the sport, and I can continue to use Voltaire. Yesterday Voltaire was flawless in the big competitions in Aachen," Marc Houtzager says to horses.nl.

There is more good news from Houtzager; Tamino is on the way back after an injury. "It's not serious, but we wanted to use the time for it to heal. It will be some time before I get him back to the ring. He is too good to enforce a quick start.”
