Steve Guerdat steals Thursday's biggest win at Jumping International Mons

Friday, 04 July 2014

Steve Guerdat and Lady Limbus won Thursday's Grand Prix qualifier in Mons. Photo by World of Showjumping.Steve Guerdat and the eight year old Kannan-daughter Lady Limbus won Thursday's biggest class at Jumping International Mons. Keen to win the 1.50 Grand Prix qualifier, Steve kept Lady Limbus in top gear from start to finish around the twelve fence track from a quite late draw – taking over the lead with a blistering fast time of 67.17 seconds. Towards the end of the class, Daniel Neilson tried his best to catch the Swiss rider together with the lovely Varo M (Pierrot x Weinfürst) – but even though the British rider was fast he was still over a second behind. Third place went to Sweden's Douglas Lindelöw riding Casello (Casall x Carolus).

In the 1.45 class, John Whitaker continued his winning streak on Woulon L (Toulon x G.Ramiro Z). Riding to a time of 59.46 in this speed class, the British rider took the win ahead of Germany's Marc Bettinger on the always quick Quannan-R (Kannan x Lucky One) – a second behind John on the clock. Third place went to another British rider; Mark Armstrong on Zagahorn (Matterhorn x Wolfgang).
