Sulz and Whitaker on top in Geesteren

Saturday, 28 June 2014

Denise Sulz and Flotte Dern won Saturday's biggest class in Geesteren. Photo by World of Showjumping. The CSI3* show in Geesteren continued on Saturday with wins for Germany's Denise Sulz and Great Britain's John Whitaker in the 1.50 and 1.45 classes respectively. Sulz – a student of Marcus Ehning – rode Flotte Dern (Forsyth x Acord II) to victory in the over 90-rider class that counted some of the sport's true stars. With a double clear round and a time of 40.23, Sulz was the fastest in the jump-off that twelve of the nineteen first-round clears opted to ride. In second came Abdullah Sharbatly on Callahan (Contendro x For Pleasure) in 40.74 seconds, while Timothy Hendrix was third on Cedrick 8 (Couleur-Rubin x Quattro B) in 41.67 seconds.

The 1.45 class went to John Whitaker on Woulon L (Toulon x G.Ramiro Z), who was fractions faster than yesterday's winner Gert Jan Bruggink on Vita 24 (Carinjo x Contender). Another home rider was third; Patrick Lemmen Chinzana van de Helle (Candillo x Landos).
