The three star Grand Prix in Saint-Lô went to Ireland’s Shane Breen riding Zarnita (Namelus x Ahorn). On the 9 year old mare Shane rode two clear rounds – leaving home rider Kevin Staut to second on For Joy van’t Zorgvliet HDC (For Pleasure x Heartbreaker) with only 0.24 seconds separating them. Third went to another Irish rider – Dermott Lennon on Loughview Lou-Lou (Limmerick x Jack of Diamonds), who was a little under a second behind the winner. Then followed no less than four French riders, three of them with double clears in this three star Grand Prix.
In Genk the two star Grand Prix saw Pieter Devos on top. Aboard Couscous van Orti (Nabab de Reve x Cash), the Belgian rider was double clear with a time of 31.27 seconds in the jump-off. Then followed Catherine van Roosbroeck on Calumet (Jouyeux Ardent x Ircolando) on a time of 31.71 seconds, while Koen Vereecke was third on Allegro C van de Donkhoeve (Mr. Blue x Robin II Z) – followed by another four Belgian riders.
In Oliva the two star Grand Prix was won by Constant van Paesschen on Diamanthina van’t Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly x Carthago). Being clear and more than four seconds faster in the jump-off than runner-up Eduardo Alvarez Aznar on Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot (L’Arc de Triomphe), the Belgian rider had a huge gap down to those who followed. Third – and also double clear was Khaled Al Eid on Vanhoeve (Concorde x Burggraaf).
