The class featured some big names, but it was the Belgian rider and his 12 year old Carthago Z-stallion that went all the way to the top. The pair had one of eight double clears, but in the jump-off they managed a slightly faster time than the runner-ups that were no other than reigning world champions Philippe Le Jeune and Vigo d’Arsouilles STX (Nabab de Reve x Fleuri de Manoir). The difference between the two riders were only 0.25 seconds. A little further behind in third was British rider Joe Clee on Diablesse de Muze, a 9 year old Baloubet du Rouet-daughter.
