Sunday, 15 April 2012

Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof's Voltaire proved to be the best combination in the Grand Prix in Hardelot. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. In Hardelot the Grand Prix went to Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof’s Voltaire (Now or Never x Accord II). The dutch combination was nearly a second faster than William Funnel and Billy Angelo in second. Franc Schillewaert and Marquis de la Lande were third with Kevin Staut in fourth place. These top four were the only double clears out of the eleven that went on to the jump-off from the 56 combinations to start.

In Arezzo it was Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking on the eight year old Chopin (Chellano Z x Alme Z) that took home the three star Grand Prix. The class had sixty riders lined up, and out of these fifteen went on to the second round – where four of them produced a second clear. Tim was the fastest though, on 42.73 seconds – 0.73 seconds ahead of runner-up and home rider Giovanni Consorti on Silverstras (Quantum  x Corofino). Katharina Offel continued her good form and ended third on Nobylis (Bonhomme II SF x Rox de la Touche), while fourth place went to Claudia Gisler on Touchable (Navarone x Goodwill). It was Nicola Philippaerts who had the fastest time of the day, but he saw one down on Carlos V.H.P.Z (Chellano Z x Voltaire).

In the 3* Grand Prix of Neuendorf Pius Schwizer took home the win aboard Coolgirl after two clear rounds. The class had 50 combinations to start, but only three of them delivered double clear rounds. In addition to Schwizer the double clears came with two talented girls  - Eugenie Angot riding Davendy S and Janika Sprunger with Palloubet D’Halong.
