Sweden qualified for the Top League

Sunday, 25 September 2011

Seven teams lined up for the final. Three teams had only three riders; Canada, Poland and Russia.

After the first round Sweden was in the lead with 8 faults and then it was three teams tied in second place on 13 faults; Italy, Ukraine and Spain.

Rolf-Göran Bengtsson with Quintero La Silla was the last rider to go in the second round and he for sure had some pressure on his shoulders. One down was ok, but if he took two with him Spain would have won and Ukraine would have been second. To the home crowds disappointment Rolf managed to ride a clear round and secured the win for Sweden.

The Swedish winning team consisted of Malin Baryard-Johnsson/H&M Tornesch (0/4), Angelica Augustsson/Mic Mac du Tillard (4/4), Svante Johansson/Caramell KS (4/8) and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson/Quintero La Silla (5/0). Sweden ended up with a total of 16 penalties, with Spain behind them on 21 and Ukraine on 22.

This means that Sweden and Switzerland is going to compete in the Top League next year.
