Swiss speed and accuracy in Zürich

Friday, 27 January 2012

Beat Mändli & Una Traviatta won in Zürich. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. It was home rider Beat Mändli on Una Traviatta (Contender x Lys de Darmen) who won the 1.45 speed class in Zürich Friday. After some fast clear rounds from his compatriots Werner Muff and Martin Fuchs, Beat took the lead and kept it about half way in the class. The Swiss rider’s time was as good as 48.08 and nobody could catch the stylish rider who cut all the corners and turns. Swiss rider Steve Guerdat on Niels Bruynseels’ former ride Carpalo (Contender x Cicero) was also clear and ended up tenth, securing four Swiss riders in the top ten.

Last to go Rolf-Göran Bengtsson was runner-up on a well jumping Carusso LS La Silla (Montebello La Silla x Joost) on the time 49.91. The most beautiful round came from Marco Kutscher and Satisfaction FRH 10 (Stakkato x Calypso) who made it around the 11 fence track very effortlessly, and placed third.

Ludo Philippaerts was the most unlucky rider in the class when Chicago vh Moleneind (Kashmir van Schutterhof x Darco) unbalanced his rider out of the combination at 4b, and Ludo eventually had to let go and landed on his feet.
