Taloubet Z in partial German ownership

Tuesday, 03 January 2012

Taloubet Z & Christian Ahlmann. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Right ahead of the Olympic deadline 31.12.2011 there was an ownership change for Taloubet Z. From the 19th of December 2011 Taloubet Z’s rider Christian Ahlmann is listed as co-owner of the Galoubet A-stallion, together with his girlfriend Judy-Ann Melchior and her father Leon Melchior. Taloubet Z is also registered under German nationality, which will enable him to compete for Germany at the Olympics in London.

The FEI rules state that horses entered for the equestrian events at the Olympic Games must have been registered with FEI as property of owners of the same nationality as the athlete, by 31 December 2011. Horses, with multinational ownership, must be registered with FEI by the 31 December 2011 (as per above paragraph), under the name of the nation for which the horse will compete during the Olympic Games.
