Nobody could do anything about Katrin Eckermann and her wonderful Carlson 46 (Casco x Sable Rose) in the Championat of Frankfurt on Friday night. The pair produced two great clear rounds, and coming in as third to go in the jump-off they set a standard that nobody could match with a time of 34.12 seconds. Closest came Niklas Krieg on Carella 5 (Clearway x Concerto II), at 34.66 seconds – and this was Krieg’s second runner-up position of the day.
The Netherland’s Gert Jan Bruggink was the only foreign rider among the top five – riding Vampire 6 to third place at 34.96 seconds in the jump-off. Then followed two more German riders; Mario Stevens and Marc Bettinger as nr. four and five.
Earlier in the day, Sjaak Sleiderink won the 1.40 speed class riding W Sarah (Rubert R x Germus R). The super talented 21 year old Dutch rider was fractions ahead of second placed Niklas Krieg on Carella 5 (Clearway x Concerto II ) – only 0.04 seconds separated the two riders. In third came Angelica Heröder on Panthere De Bacon (Mr. Blue x Quercus du Maury AA), almost a second behind Krieg – securing two Germans in the top three.
