The Dutch debate on Utascha SFN

Thursday, 10 November 2011

Utascha SFN's transfer from Eric to Jeroen has caused debate in Holland. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.

The debate is on in Holland after it became official that Jeroen Dubbeldam has taken over Eric van der Vleuten’s former ride Utascha SFN.The comments on the Dutch website horses.nl are many, but Dubbeldam is apparently not affected by those who criticise him. To horses.nl, Jeroen says; “When the Springpaarden Fonds Nederland asked me if I could take Utascha in training, I first called Eric.”

According to the Dutch website Jeroen also says; "I knew of course that there was a big chance that Simon would be sold. So why would I say no Utascha? I am a sportsman. If I say no, then another says yes. Eric told me he would have done the same.”
