The Eurocommerce story continues

Saturday, 27 October 2012

Anelies Vorsselmans is kept from competing the Eurocommerce horses. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Eleven weeks have gone by since Eurocommerce London was held back in England after the Olympic Games. Since then rumors have been wandering and the story on the Eurocommerce bankruptcy and the horses and people involved have shifted from week to week. For a long time all horses competed and travelled around the world as normal, but since Gerco Schröder was competing London in Rio three weeks ago, the horses have been held at Stal Eurocommerce and not allowed to travel as Rabobank has held their passports.

To not be able to let the horses compete is of course a big problem for both the riders at Stal Eurocommerce, Gerco Schröder and Annelies Vorsselmans, as well as the owner, Ger Visser. No shows means no prize money, and the value of the horses could  get affected in the end as well. Rabobank has previously stated that also they see the importance in the horses being able to compete, but at this point the passports are obviously not handed out for them to leave the country. Gerco was originally on the riders list for Hannover, but had to cancel this week as things were not sorted out.
