The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in St. Gallen in images

Saturday, 01 June 2013

The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in St. Gallen was all about the ground and the footing. The horses sunk on the grass footing and got quite stuck. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Cian O'Connor reunited with Blue Loyd for the Nations Cup yesterday, and they were clear. Armitages Boy in action for France. Gregory Wathelet and Desteny vd Dennehof for Belgium. The Dutch silver team from the Olympics in London were support to compete in the Nations Cup, but the horses were changed so Gerco rode Seoul instead of London. Guy Williams and Titus II were part of the winning team for Great Britain. The organizers did everything they could to keep the ground as good as possible, but the rain kept falling and it made their work impossible. Judy-Ann Melchior and As Cold As Ice Z were part of the third placed Belgian team.Michael Kelly on Annestown for Ireland. Laura Renwick won the jump-off for Great Britain on Oz de Breve. Cortez, with Nicola Phillippaerts in the saddle, sunk down just as the rest of the horses. Luckily the fences were lowered and the course build nicely due to the circumstances. Scott Brash and Hello Whisky Mac were part of the winning British team.Shane Breen on the lovely Balloon.Steve and Nasa were clear for Switzerland in the jump-off, securing second place. This image says it all....
