The GP in Porto to Julien Epaillard

Sunday, 11 December 2011

Julien Epaillard and Mister Davier - the winning combination in Porto. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson/worldofshowjumping.comJulien Epaillard and Mister Davier (Quiniou x Leprince de Thurin) took home the win in Porto this evening. The French rider was a second faster than runner up Gregory Wathelet aboard Kronus d’Ouilly (Uzelien x Gardenia). Another French rider secured third place - Roger Yves Bost riding Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois (Dollar du Murier x Grand Veneur).

Out of 34 combinations the ten best went on to a second round. Only six riders were clear and four went on to the second round with one time fault. Out of these only the top three with Epaillard, Wathelet and Bost produced double clears, while Eugenie Angot and Lothian des Hayettes (Banboula du Thot x Major de la Cour) had to settle for fourth place with one time fault from the first round.

The show in Porto had many interesting riders present such as Sergio Alvares Moya, Bernardo Alves, Philippe Rozier and Harrie Smolders.
