The Grand Prix in Gijon to Andre Thieme and Contanga

Monday, 02 September 2013

Andre Thieme and Contanga. Photo by CSIO Gijon. Andre Thieme won the five star Grand Prix in Gijon on Monday riding Contanga (Catoki x Contango). The German rider and his 9 year old mare were the only ones that managed a clear second round to take home the top prize of 47850 Euro. Runner-up on a one penalty score in round two was Simon Delestre from France on the lovely 9 year old stallion Qlassic Bois Margot ('Arc de Triomphe x Galoubet A). Third was Britain’s super talented Daniel Neilson aboard Zigali P S (Kigali x Palfrenie), also this pair with a one penalty score in round two. Fourth and fastest in round two – but on the expense on a pole, was another young talent; Holland’s Frank Schuttert on Winchester HS (Numero Uno x Nimmerdor).
