Monday, 12 November 2012

Martin Fuchs and Principal. Photo by Ken Braddick/dressage-news.com.Martin Fuchs added yet another big win to his record when he Monday evening won the Grand Prix in Vienna. The Swiss rider was one out of nine riders that went into the jump-off in the five star Grand Prix, where none of the other riders could keep up with the 20 year old who rode his partner Principal (Prinz Oldenburg x Grabensprung). A clear round of 36.72 seconds secured the win for Martin ahead of Gerco Schroder on Eurocommerce London (Nabab de Reve x Chin Chin), who did their first show together since their last outing in Rio in October. The Dutch rider and his double Olympic silver medal ride London had a time of 37.55 in the jump-off. Third was speed machine Roger Yves Bost on Castle Forbes Myrtille Palouis (Dollar du Murier x Grand Veneur) - also they with a second clear round at 38.43 seconds. The fastest time belonged to Gert-Jan Bruggink on Andrea (Marome x Voltaire), but the Dutch rider had to record four faults - settling for fourth place.
