Sunday's 3* Grand Prix class in Neumünster was set at 1.55 meters, and was a one phased class with a winning round for the ten best riders. Only five out of the fourty contestants rode clear rounds and it was a combination - the two last fences of the course - that caused most problems. Philipp Weishaupt once again did his very best with the fastest time in both rounds. Unfortunately Leoville (Landosr S x Wettruf)had a fence down in both rounds and they ended up eight.
It was Belgium that secured the victory with a very fast round from Jan Vinckier and his amazing horse Ursela (Andiamo x Amethist). Vinckier explained that he has only had the horse for six months and is very pleased with it. He has been building her up step by step and everything she has done has been perfect. The Belgian rider took the mare to Neumünster to find out if she was ready for the bigger classes – and he was surprised how easy she made it. Denis Lynch was second aboard Lacroix, while Holger Wulchner was third on Cefalo.
The 1.50 class on Saturday was won by Marc Houtzager and the 10 year old gelding Uppity (Guidam x M.v Epilot). The two German riders Philipp Weishaupt and Christian Ahlmann shared the second place as they both clocked in at 32.82 seconds in the jump off – 0,35 seconds after the winner.
