The Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final – The riders in it: Ludger Beerbaum

His name speaks for itself. The rider is of course Ludger Beerbaum. Ludger is a living legend, and hugely respected in the sport. He has three Olympic team gold medals; from the Games in 1988, 1996 and 2000 – and individual Olympic gold from Barcelona in 1992. He has two team gold medals from the World Equestrian Games, and a truck load of medals from the European Championships as well.

This year the German rider has been on fire; Ludger took big wins Basel, Zürich, Gothenburg, Rotterdam, Aachen, Hickstead and Donetsk. He was also on the silver winning German team at the Europeans in Herning with Chiara.

Ludger is currently number seven on the world ranking, and has won the Top 10 Final twice before – in 2001 and 2002.
