The Santa Stakes to Simon Delestre at Olympia

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson, worldofshowjumping.com.The biggest class of the day at Olympia – the Santa Stakes – went to Simon Delestre and Whisper (Gentleman x Sit This One Out). Only three riders managed to produce clear rounds in this 1.60 class, and Simon was by far the fastest of these being almost eight seconds faster than runner-up Holger Wulschner on the eight year old Cavity G (Caretino x Lansing). Ludo Phillipaerts was third, while Pius Schwizer had the fastest time of the day on Verdi III (Hors La Loi II x Cantus) but had to see the penultimate  oxer down to finish fifth.


Earlier in the day Guy Williams continued his winning form to take home the 1.50 Kingsland Prize as well as the Renault Christmas Master. In the Kingsland Prize Guy and Djakarta (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Holland) were over a second faster than speedy Finnish rider Nina Fagerström on Stephex Stable’s Talent (Limbus x Grundyman). British riders guy Williams and Robert Whitaker made sure that the Jack dominated in third and fourth place.
