The Swiss team for the Europeans

Wednesday, 10 August 2011

Clarissa Crotta and Imperial West Side van Meerputhoeve are ready for Madrid after a fantastic season. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The riders who will represent Switzerland at the European Championships in Madrid in September have been selected. The Swiss team will consist of Clarissa Crotta with Imperial West Side van Meerputhoeve, Steve Guerdat with Jalisca Solier, Beat Mändli with Louis IV and Pius Schwizer with Carlina IV. The fifth rider – and reserve – is Werner Muff with Kiamon.

Switzerland is reining European team champions, as they won the team gold at Windsor. Clarissa, Steve and Pius were all on the winning team back in 2009. Switzerland has not yet qualified for the Olympics in London, and the Europeans in Madrid will be their last chance to do so.
