The WoSJ guest blogger from the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final; Kay Neatham – a quiet weekend in Stockholm

Monday, 02 December 2013

Hi everyone,

Sitting in the truck with about 800km, a ferry, many bridges and a lay over at Maria Gretzer's behind me and Emma. Left is 500km and home.

My charger died Saturday night so I've been cut off from the world. Quite nice sometimes and when I turned the phone on again, I hadn't missed much.

Sunday morning was busy with the first class at 9am and the Grand Prix at 11.45. Katta only had the first class today so by 10am on a Sunday she was finished! With jumping anyway. how strange!

Kuche was last to go in the Grand Prix, number 18! She tried as she always does to be good but we didn't make the second round. Never mind; onwards. We then got everything finished and packed ready to leave Stockholm. By 3pm we were again on the open road heading south to the next destination and show (for most of us Paris). I luckily have a weekend at home to do Christmas shopping!!

It was a quiet weekend in Stockholm with most of us just very tired from weeks on the road and reflecting with, backstage, many changes are happening. My very good friends and team mates Katta from Ludger and Emma from Christian will be leaving soon, we've all been through a lot together and I couldn't have asked to have to better colleagues in this tough and demanding job. I wish them both all the best and good luck, with all their dreams coming true.
