Woke up before my alarm feeling normal, but the mirror seems to think I look more tired than yesterday!! Katta and I then headed off to the stables with Jenny and coffee in hand.. Gonna be a good day!
Copin had slept to well and was half un-dressed when I looked in his stable this morning and Kuche had been sleeping, lying down from the straw on her blanket... Both were hungry for breakfast.
The normal morning routine and everyone busy taking out their horses.. I choose to just handwalk my two... Copin was very chilled and we checked out nearly everything standing in the aisles from Christmas carriages to pink castles, met the driving ponies going for vet check and watched other horses longing. Kuche surprised me and took a keen interest in the Xmas trees undue the Rolex clock, on the warm up... So keen that she took a bite, pulled it out of its bucket, which I was so sure would terrify her, and then after taking a step back with it still in her month, wouldn't let go, I had to stick my finger in her mouth to get it back!!!!
On the way to breakfast with Heidi she asked if I had had any trouble sleeping? I answered' not that I remember!'
The biggest question for all of us on the way upto breakfast 'what shall we start with....' Yogurt, bread, pancakes, bacon and eggs?' Ben who was in the elevator with us left saying ' see you tonight then!' So it was obviously going to take us a while to eat everything we were planing on!!
Around 2.30pm the riders started to arrive, Marcus came with candy which everyone liked!
It was then quickly time for classes, which more or less everyone had to be ready for at the same time, with only 20 riders in a class.
Copin was first up, we use this class to check everything is working and give him a good feeling for tomorrow's top ten final. Marcus was very happy with Cop, so everything the same tomorrow, just bigger fences!!!
Washing the horses here is a bit of a challenge, as the wash stalls are on the side of the warm up, at the entrance to the ring. It surprises me that there has never been a major accident here, not only is the box small and narrow, with black mats, they were also flooded yesterday and the army horses were standing outside ready to go in the ring! Sometimes we ask an awful lot from our horses...
The big class with Kuche was good, she enjoys the big quiet warm up. Marcus was really happy with her, although I was joking with him' if he couldn't ride a little faster, like all the Swedish yesterday at break neck speeds to win the car!
All in all a good day... Let's see what tomorrow brings
