This weekend, two international shows are on in Germany – Dortmund hosts a three star event while Braunschweig has welcomed riders to a four star show. On Friday it was the Netherland’s Bart Bles who won the biggest class in Dortmund – a 1.45 Longines ranking class that also served as a qualifier for the Masters League Final on Sunday. Riding Lord Sandro DDH – a 12 year old stallion by Lordanos x Sandro – Bles rode the only double clear of the class to take home the win. Runner-up was Hans-Thorben Rüder on Orlanda (Julio Mariner xx x Caretino) who was almost two seconds faster than Bles in the jump-off, but on the expense of a pole down. In third followed Julia Kayser on Sterrehof’s Cayetano (Caretano Z x Cor de la Bryere), also she with four faults in the jump-off.
In Braunschweig the 1.50 Longines ranking class went to Felix Hassmann on Horse Gym’s Balzaci (Balou du Rouet x Ex Libris). With a clear round, and the fastest time of the class at 55.76 seconds the German rider left Kevin Staut and Oh d’Eole (Kannan x Papillon Rouge) behind him in second – 1.43 seconds slower on the time. Third was South-Africa’s Oliver Lazarus on Curt (Contendro I x Quinto), also he clear, but more than four seconds behind the winner.
