The Concours Hippique International de Genève met media representatives on Wednesday October 9th at the Credit Suisse Forum in Geneva. Sophie Mottu Morel, Director of the CHI Geneva, and Alban Poudret, Sports Director, presented the program of this 53rd edition. There will be a highlight everyday: the Geneva Classic on Thursday evening, the Credit Suisse Grand Prix on Friday evening and the Défi des Champions on Saturday evening. The flagship class will be the Rolex Grand Prix.
Faye Schoch was one of the distinguished guests of this press conference. The rider from Fribourg is one of the four laureates of the Wild Cards, distributed in regards to the established ranking throughout the national season. She finished first in this ranking thanks to three victories in Grand Prix’s of Cheseaux, Poliez-Pittet and Crassier. Faye Schoch will be riding the arena of the CHI, as she already has in the past in the Chasse sans selle with her famous Machno Carwyn, and thereafter again in in the horse classes when she was riding as a Young Rider.
“It is a dream to participate in the CHI Geneva and the audience is phenomenal. I do not know any other competition with such an atmosphere. I was 12 the first time I participated in this competition and I watched the film every day during a whole year afterwards. It is simply magical to ride in this arena and I did not imaginel getting the chance to relive that this year. If someone would have told me this in January, I would not have believed them. I cannot wait to come back, the last time was in 2006, it begins to date.”
