This week it is time for the third leg of the Rolex FEI World Cup Western European League in Lyon, France. Jeroen Dubbeldam, who is on top of the list after the first two legs with his 35 point, will not be there. But several other riders among the top ten in the Western European League will compete; Sergio Alvarez Moya, Scott Brash, Roger Yves Bost, Kevin Staut, Beat Mändli, Pius Schwizer and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.
Other riders, such as Michael Whitaker, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Cian O'Connor, Marc Houtzager and Malin Baryard-Johnsson, will do their first World Cup qualifier for the season and start their hunt for the valuable points. It normally takes about 40 points to make it to the big final that this year will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Gerco Schröder is on the list for Lyon, but due to the passport issues for the Eurocommerce horses we probably will have to wait and see if he will be able to go.
