Sunday, 08 September 2013

Rodrigo Pessoa took home the GP win in Arezzo with Citizenguard Cadjanine Z. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The 3* Grand Prix in Arezzo went to Rodrigo Pessoa and Citizenguard Cadjanine Z (Canabis Z x Feinschnitt). Rodrigo’s win closed off a very good Brazilian weekend in Arezzo as their team also won the Nations Cup Friday afternoon. The Grand Prix was ridden over two rounds where the fifteen best riders qualified for the second round. Seven riders produced two clear rounds, and the one closest to Rodrigo was Frédéric Busquet and Plume de da Roque (Kannan x Adelfos). Dieter Köfler from Austria came third aboard Glock’s Prince de Vaux (Flipper d’Elle x Super de Bourriere).

It was a good day for the Pessoa-family in Arezzo as the 2* Grand Prix went to Alexa Pessoa and Levade 35 (Levisto x Kolibri).Alexa took home the win ahead of Eduardo Menezes riding Caruschka (Caspar x Continue) and Annina Züger with Llatos II (Llatos x Cor de la Bryere).

The 3* Grand Prix in Humlikon went to Dutch rider Sjaak Sleiderink and Zhivago (No Limit X Kigali). Sjaak is Jeroen Dubbeldam’s very talented stable jockey at Stal de Sjiem, and he was a part of the Dutch team of young riders taking the silver medal during the European Championship earlier this year.

The more experienced Pius Schwiser had to settle for second place in Humlikon with his eight year old ride Toulago (Toulon x Carthago), while  Maiju Mallat from Finland ended third riding Armani the Gun CH (Abanos x Ramiro Z).

In Zandhoven the 3* Grand Prix went to another Dutch rider, Bart Bles,  and the elleven year old stallion Lord Sandro DDH (Lordanos x Sandro). Bart was more than a second faster than runner-up Nina Fagerström and Quebracho de Semilly (by Le tot de Semilly). Nina’s cooperation with the Levallois-family in Normandy seems to develop very well, and Nina has produced good results all season with her quite new string of horses. Third place in Zandhoven went to Italy and Lorenzo de Luca aboard Vignet (Heartbreaker x Iroko).
