Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking and Quartz (Quality Touch x Zandigo) won the Grand Prix of Rulle after an amazing jump-off. It was a difficult course, and out of the 39 riders that came to start only five managed to produce clear rounds.
The first clear came with start number ten, Ann-Kathrin Helmig and Cerberus. Then it was a wait all the way to start number 28 as Ann-Kathrin got company in the jump-off from her boyfriend Johannes Ehning and Salvador V. Tim Rieskamp-Goedeking followed, and after him Markus Renzel with Conally and Gert-Jan Bruggink aboard Cash Junior.
Tim, Johannes and Ann-Kathrin all produced clear rounds in the jump-off as well, while Gert-Jan had one down and Markus two when trying to beat Tim's time. With the time of 33.47 in the jump-off Tim was a proud and happy winner, more than two seconds faster than Johannes at 35.58 seconds.
Judy-Ann Melchior had a really bad crash with Asca Z when the mare decided to take off one stride too early in to the triple combination which led to Judy-Ann being brought with the ambulance to the hospital. We all hope that she will be back in the saddle soon. Christian Ahlmann, her boyfriend, followed her to the hospital and didn´t ride in the Grand Prix.
There were some good horses and riders competing in the Grand Prix. Mario Stevens and Mac Kinley had a silly fault, but otherwise produced a great round. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Carusso LS La Silla would probably have been clear if Rolf had been able to make up his mind to the second last fence. It was a distance with 4 or 5 strides, but Rolf and Carusso ended up on 4,5. It gave the audience a big laugh though as Rolf himself started to laugh out loud after his mistake. Another great rider who had one down was Marcus Ehning with the big brown Harley, while Lars Nieberg had two down with Quiletta du Domaine.
