USA takes the lead in the North American Region of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup

USA has taken the lead in the North American Region of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™, and has their sight set on the final in September. Just three nations - USA, Canada and Mexico - are competing for the two available qualifying spots from the North American, Central American and Caribbean League. USA now carries the maximum of 100 points into the second of the two regional qualifiers at Spruce Meadows in June, where Canada will lie just 10 points behind after earning 90 points for their second place yesterday. For Mexico it is a long way up, as they finished last yesterday and just earned 65 points. 

Eighteen teams from the 22 qualifying rounds over seven leagues will go on to the final. The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ is divided in to six regions; Europe (Divisions 1 and 2), North America, South America, Middle East, Asia and Africa. 

The following points system is used for all qualifying competitions:
1st -100 points
2nd - 90 points
3rd - 82 points
4th - 75 points
5th - 70 points
6th - 66 points
7th - 65 points
8th - 64 points
9th - 60 points
10th - 59 points
