Uncertainty surrounding the Eurocommerce-horses possibility to compete

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Back and forth, back and forth; that seems to be the case when it comes to the Eurocommerce-horses and their possibility to compete abroad. The Dutch website horses.nl writes that Ger Visser jr. – the man behind the company Gevi International that owns several of the Eurocommerce horses including Eurocommerce London – has stated that Rabobank will deny access to the horses’ passports after this weekend’s event in Rio.

Visser Jr.’s statement comes as a surprise as Rabobank stated in a press release last week that the Eurocommerce horses would continue to compete while awaiting a final court decision in the civil matter. Visser Jr. claims that Rabobank has turned in their decision, and that the passports no longer will be available for the Eurocommerce riders.

According to horses.nl Rabobank apparently denies that the bank wants to keep the passports. Nevertheless Stal Eurocommerce’s lawyer has announced that the next step will be an appeal, and it thus looks like the legal battle surrounding the horses will continue.
