Harrie Smolders was unbeatable in the 3* Grand Prix qualifier in Caen Friday night. Fourteen riders qualified for the jump-off. First to go, Pénélope Leprevost and Maestro de la Loge (Esterel des Bois x Narcos II) did a perfect clear round. The Norman public thought that the current World and European Team Champion could be the new “queen of Normandy”. But Harrie Smolders and the fast Regina Z (Rex Z x Savoy Hanover) – owned by Jos Verlooy – showed off a real demonstration; stopping the clock at 32.32! Harrie remained unbeatable till the end. Carsten-Otto Nagel and Rarität (Carnute x Lord) won the biggest class in Odense Friday; a 1.45 class. They were 0.46 seconds faster than Phillip Rüping and Cuincy (Calato x Contender) that ended up second. Stein Endresen and Crelido (Calido x Raimondo) were third, ahead of Mario Stevens in fourth. In Hannover Hans-Dieter Dreher continued on his winning ways. On Embassy II (Escudo I x Silvio I) he won the 1.45 class ahead of Andre Schröder on Window 7 (Weinzauber x Florestan) and Florian Meyer zu Hartum on Cornet’s Cristallo ( Cornet Obolensky x Pilot). It was Marco Kutscher who had the fastest time in the class though, but a pole down pushed him down to sixth place. Click here for full results from Hannover.
Roberth Smith and Balourado (Baloubet du Rouet x Corrado I) won the biggest 3* class in Assen. Chantal Regter/Aragon (Askari x Kolibri) was second and Leon Thijssen third on Haertthago (Heartbreaker x Carthago) in this 1.50 class. Click here for full results from Assen.
