Visiting Stal de Sjiem in images - part one

Jeroen's stable is named after his famous partner and Olympic gold medallist De Sjiem - now 25 years old and enjoying his retirement. Here's how it looked when WoSJ visited Stal de Sjiem earlier this year. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

De Sjiem's name will live on for ever at the yard in Weerselo.

 The beautiful white gelding has definetly put his stamp on Jeroen's stable.
 We would also like an Olympic hedge!

 ...we always joked Jeroen was a knight on a white stallion...
