Monday, 02 May 2011

The KWPN is on top of the FEI WBFSH ranking list for the jumping studbooks, with BMC Van Grunsven Simon being the studbook's best representative. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The latest FEI WBFSH ranking list for the jumping studbooks has been released, and the KWPN is on top of the ranking with horses like BMC Van Grunsven Simon (by Mr. Blue), Taloubet Z (by Galoubet A), Ninja la Silla (by Guidam), Silvana de Hus (by Corland), Hickstead (by Hamlet) and Tyson (by Numero Uno) representing the studbook. The ranking includes competitions from from 01/10/2010 to 31/03/2011.

The 12 year old gelding BMC Van Grunsven Simon is also ranked as number two in the jumping horses’ rankings, just behind Billy Twomey’s ride Tinka’s Serenade – an AES mare by Tinka’s Boy. Both horses have done very well lately; the latter has had victories in 5* shows in Zürich and Basel, while Simon won the world cup qualifier in Verona and was second in den Bosch. Simon was also in the top three in the Rolex FEI World Cup final in Leipzig this weekend. Christian Ahlmann’s World Cup winner Taloubet Z is ranked as number three on the list – although the competition in Leipzig is not included in these rankings – also contributing to the KWPN’s success.

The Holsteiner Verband is in rank two, and has the Corrado I-mare Corradina as their highest ranked horse. Representing Holstein is also Eurocommerce New Orleans (by Colbert), Quintero la Silla (by Quantum), Lord Luis (by Lasino), Casall la Silla (by Caretino) and Carlina (by Carvallo).

The BWP follows on rank three, with horses such as Abbervail van het Dingeshof (by Nonstop), Sapphire (by Darco) and Vigo d’Arsouilles (by Nabab de Reve). Abbervail van het Dingeshof, who is ridden by Denis Lynch, is also ranked as number four individually. The horse recently won the World Cup qualifier in den Bosch.

The Selle Francais studbook is found on rank four, it’s best representative being Quick Study (by Quick Star) – a horse ridden by American rider Lauren Hough.
