What the top three in the DKB-Riders Tour qualifier at the German Classics had to say

Saturday, 19 October 2013

"The jump-off course fitted her really well," Rodrigo said after his win. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Rodrigo Pessoa on the German Classics; “It’s a pleasure to be back in Germany, and especially here in Hannover. It’s a great event and the infrastructure is perfect for showjumping, and the audience is really really good. It’s horse territory around here so it feels good to be back.”

Rodrigo Pessoa on his winning horse Citizenguard Cadjanine Z; “I started riding her in July. She was ridden before with success by Gregory Wathelet, but the owner and rider parted ways and I picked up the ride. She is a very good jumper, very scopey, very powerful. She was not the easiest horse, but we are finding our way together. She was really good in Arezzo, she won the Grand Prix there and she was clear and four in Barcelona in the Nations Cup final. Today she jumped really well. I wanted to keep some for tomorrow, because I ride her in the Grand Prix. The jump-off course fitted her really well; she has a big stride and I could open her up a little without going to crazy. It worked out good so I am really pleased.”

Runner-up Robert Whitaker on current super form; “Catwalk has been very consistent over the last year now. He is going to jump the Grand Prix tomorrow, and I didn’t want to go to quick – so it was nice to end second.”

Third placed Ference Szentirmai; ”It’s my first indoor show of the season, and Quickdiamond has been jumping great here. I have had the horse for a year now, and I have had some good results with him against the clock.”
