WoSJ Close-Up; Embassy II

Thursday, 13 November 2014

One of the most stunning horses in the world is out next in our WoSJ Close-Up series; meet the heart robber Embassy II. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Embassy II was born 25th of March 2001. He is by Escudo I, out of the mare Sammy Jo by Silvio I. Dr. Bonny-Jasmin Jacobs bred the stallion. Embassy II is ridden by Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher.  Embassy II is known for his extra ordinary jumping abilities and is one of the flashiest horses on the circuit with a fantastic presence in the ring. Hansi did his international debut with the stallion in July 2011, and from there the two went from strength to strength.  Their first international win together came at the CSI3* event in Hannover in the autumn of 2011.  In March 2012 the couple won their first international Grand Prix together, going to the top at the CSI4* show in Braunschweig.  Since then the two have picked up numerous wins all over the world. Embassy II and Hansi also won the prestigious Preis der AachenMünchener in 2013.  In November last year the two recorded one of their biggest wins to date, when going to the top on home soil in the Longines FEI World Cup in Stuttgart.  The pair was also on the winning German Nations Cup team at Spruce Meadows in 2012, as well as in Rotterdam in 2013. “Embassy has a super character, he’s the same every day,” Hansi once told World of Showjuping.   In 2012 Embassy II topped the list of the most successful German bred horses.  Embassy II with his groom Stefan.
