In this WoSJ Close Up we turn the spotlight to one of the world’s most loved horses: The crowd favourite Quickly de Kreisker. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.
Quickly de Kreisker was born on the 2nd of May in 2004. The stallion is French bred by Diamant de Semilly, out of the mare Briseis d’Helby by Laudanum XX. Quickly de Kreisker’s breeder is Guillaume Ansquer who runs the famous stud Elevage de Kreisker.Quickly de Kreisker was sold as a two year old during the Fences Elite Sales. Under the eye of Bruno Souloumiac, he was trained by Benjamin Robert on behalf of his owner Mrs Liliane Fromer at Elevage des Blés, and made his way on to the international scene.In 2012, he was bought under the advice of Marcel Rozier by his Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco and met his new rider Abdelkebir Ouaddar.Ouaddar and Quickly found the tone, and in March 2013 they won their first international Grand Prix together in Vejer de la Frontera.From there on the couple went from strength to strength. In September 2013 they won their first World Cup, in Rabat. In the beginning of 2014 they did it again, this time in Sharjah.In 2014 the pair also won the Grand Prix in Al Ain, Le Touquet, Macon Laize – in addition to several other wins.Recently Quickly de Kreisker and Ouaddar also won the World Cup in Tetouan. The fantastic results brought the stallion to the top of the WBFSH FEI World Breeding Rankings in July this year.In 2014 Quickly de Kreisker and Ouaddar also competed at the World Cup Finals in Lyon where they ended eleventh. At the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, the stallion jumped unbelievable to finish 13th individually. Quickly de Kreisker - one of the true super stars of the sport.
