WoSJ Close-up; Mic Mac du Tillard!

Monday, 19 March 2012

Mic Mac du Tillard seems to be one of your favourites, so we let her begin our new photo-series - WoSJ Close-up! All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Mic Mac did her first championship in Madrid last year and is now being prepared for the Olympics in London together with Angelica Augustsson.Mic Mac du Tillard is born in 2000 and is by Cruising x Galoubet A.Last year Mic Mac had her big breakthrough when she won the Rolex FEI World Cup qualifier in Gothenburg. It was the first 5* show for both Angelica and Mic Mac.Mic Mac gives Angelica a lot to work with, but also her heart. Mic Mac stands in Dietmar Gugler's stable - Stall Prinzenberg - right outside of Frankfurt. Angelica got Mic Mac the first time when she was 6 years old. When she was 8 she was sold to Georgina Bloomberg. After 1,5 year in America Mic Mac returned to Stall Prinzenberg and Angelica Augustsson. She is now owned by her breeder, Bernadette Lejeune.Georgina Bloomberg is the daughter of New York´s major and she names all her horses after places that have a connection to New York. So Mic Mac du Tillard got named Midtown du Tillard. When Mic Mac had her breakthrough with Angelica she was still namned Midtown, but now she has her original name again.Mic Mac is extremly careful and it doesn´t matter in how high speed she is going, she always knows were she has her legs."Before I started riding Mic Mac she had been tried out by many riders, but none of them wanted to put the work that was required in to her. Mic Mac was really difficult, but Dietmar was of the opinion that she was an unbelievable horse so I decided to put my heart and soul into her,” Angelica says about her favorite horse.Mic Mac helped Angelica climb from place 335 to place 59 on the Rolex ranking during 2011. That´s a climb on 276 steps!“When Mic Mac reached seven the hard work started to pay off, and she started to get some nice results. The good results continued, and as an eight year old she was sold to the US,” Angelica has told WoSJ.In the beginning of the year Angelica got a new sponsor - Kingsland - and Mic Mac got a new outfit.Mic Mac du Tillard and Angelica Augustsson won the Grand Prix of Nörten-Hardenberg 2011.“She is the absolutely best horse I have ever ridden,” Angelica says.“She is a difficult and special horse, but she has a heart of gold and always fights to the very last. I have won Mic Mac’s trust, and she does everything for me now,” Angelica says. The fantastic Mic Mac du Tillard!
