WoSJ Exclusive; Looking back at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Final 2010 - 3

Saturday, 23 August 2014

The three medalists from the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010 - Philippe Le Jeune, Abdullah Sharbatly and Eric Lamaze. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

After Philippe Le Jeune was done hugging Hickstead and being congratulated by his friends and colleagues he ran off to give his groom a proper hug.  And then it was Vigo's turn!  The gold medalists - Philippe Le Jeune with the stunning Vigo d'Arsouilles. Seldana di Campalto did a great job during the championship - ending second with Abdullah Sharbatly. A happy winner! Beautiful Vigo d'Arsouilles. Hickstead was honored as best horse in the final - here getting applause from Eric Lamaze and Philippe Le Jeune. Eric very proud of his Hickstead. We still miss this amazing horse! During the award cermony Sharbatly chose to talk on the phone. Hopefully this year the same kind of behaviour will result in a yellow card. Philippe Le Jeune and Vigo d'Arsouilles have been reigning World Champions for four years now, and in just a couple of weeks it is time to see who the next champions will be.
