WoSJ Exclusive; Svante, Dirk and Natale on the European team final

Friday, 16 September 2011

Dirk believes in Holland. Photos by Hanne Christensen.WoSJ took a quick check on the favorites for the three team medals before today’s final.

Dirk Demeersman: I think Holland will win. I don’t imagine they will do any mistakes. I also think Germany will be on the podium. Then it’s very open for the third spot; maybe France will claim the bronze, but it could also be Britain, Belgium or Sweden. I hope for Belgium of course!

Svante Johansson: Germany looks strong! The Dutch team has an incredible team moral though, and was amazing yesterday with three clear rounds. They’re good! So I think these two teams will take the top two spots. The bronze is open; Sweden could take it though. We’ll see how the horses cope with the heat, and the change from daylight to more shadow in the afternoon. It could play a part.

Natale places his bet on the Dutch team.Natale Chiaudani: Holland will be on top, the horses jumped so easy yesterday – they just need to repeat that today. France will be second; they had some unfortunate mistakes yesterday and I think they will bounce back today. Germany will be third; absolutely!
