WoSJ Exclusive; Twomey, Beerbaum and Eder on the favorites for the individual final

Sunday, 18 September 2011

Billy believes in Carsten-Otto, Nick and Luciana. Photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.WoSJ had a quick chat with Billy Twomey, Ludger Beerbaum and Stefan Eder about their top three favorites ahead of today’s final in Madrid.

Billy Twomey: I think Carsten-Otto Nagel will win. The only thing that could stop him is a total disaster. The way Nick’s horse is jumping I think he has a good chance of a medal. And Luciana Diniz has a good horse as well. So I say; Carsten-Otto will win, then silver to Nick and bronze to Luciana.

Ludger Beerbaum: No question; it will be Carsten-Otto Nagel. They are so safe, and both have all the experience needed. Even if Carsten-Otto only ride 80 % they will still win. Nick and Gerco need to ride 100 %!

Stefan puts his money on Carsten-Otto and Corradina. Stefan Eder: I think maybe Carsten-Otto Nagel and Corradina will take a double gold here. The horse has only jumped clear so far! Nick’s Carlo has jumped fantastic. It’s an unbelievable horse, and Nick is on form so I think he will get a medal as well. Gerco’s horse is not as strong as Corradina, but I think he will be in the top three as well.
